Waheeda is a director and the head of the Intellectual Property Law department.
She has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of Intellectual Property law and represents clients with varying business activities operating across industries such as pharmaceuticals, transport, municipalities, telecommunications, finance, IT, fresh produce, construction, cosmetics, consumer products, clothing, footwear, foods, wines etc. Her practice spans both contentious and non-contentious issues.
Waheeda manages numerous trade mark portfolios for local and multi-national clients and is responsible for many well-known brands. She also advises on local and international protection, management and exploitation of Intellectual Property and enforcement strategies as well as commercial aspects of Intellectual Property and can provide clients with all services associated with their trade marks, including filing, prosecution, litigation, various transactional work.
She specialises in all matters involved with trade mark portfolio management both local and foreign, including trade mark searching, filing and prosecution thereof, strategic brand advice and management. She also specialises in dispute resolution, such as trade mark litigation including oppositions and infringements, passing-off, copyright litigation, company name and domain name disputes, as well as proceedings before the Advertising Standards Authority.
