  • David deals with all aspects of Labour and Employment Law including drafting contracts, Policies and Procedures, strike handling, negotiations and litigation in the Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, Bargaining Councils and the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration.
  • David also deals with Education Law including advising Schools and Governing Bodies on their obligations in terms of the Schools Act, assisting with discipline of learners and employees.

Career Overview

  • After running his own practice of David Short Attorneys from December 2002, David joined Fairbridges as a director in 2006 and currently heads up the Employment Law Department.
  • David has chaired numbers of high profile disciplinary enquiries.  He was appointed and served on the bench as an Acting Judge of the Labour Court of South Africa in 2014.
